Nursing Mgmt & Admin Schedule:
Full-time Description The PACU Nurse Manager directs, supervises plans, staffs, and coordinates and controls function of the Pre-operative, PACU and Step-down units, under the direction of the Administrator.
The tasks and responsibilities include:
Plans and directs the activities of the assigned area in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Adapts philosophy and objectives of nursing care of patients.
Analyzes and evaluates performance of personnel and makes recommendations.
Participates in the preparation of a budget that will allow for adequate personnel, supplies and equipment.
Ensures departmental compliance with regulatory and JCAHO requirements.
Maintains good interdepartmental relationships.
Keeps informed on current developments related to the clinical area.
Also plans, organizes, directs and controls the quality and quantity of nursing care given.
Maintains knowledge of patient's condition at all times to ensure maximum care and determines the need for additional or modified procedures of the surgery center as related to patient care and personnel.
Qualifications Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Experience:
Minimum 6 months PACU experience Prior management preferred Must demonstrate good communication skills, which indicate ability to be successful at counseling, teaching marketing and public relations Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds Licensure/Certifications:
Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas CPR certified in Basic Life Support PALS required; ACLS recommended Source:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
